Keona Davis commits to The University of Miami

The University of Miami significantly bolstered its defensive front with the January 2026 commitment of former Nebraska starter Keona Davis, a move that adds both proven Power Four experience and immense physical presence to Mario Cristobal’s roster. A towering 6-foot-5, 275-pound defensive lineman, Davis chose the Hurricanes after a standout sophomore season with the Cornhuskers where he recorded 32 tackles and proved to be a versatile disruptor in the Big Ten. His arrival is perfectly timed to help the "Canes" reload their defensive line rotation following the departure of key NFL-bound prospects, providing new defensive coordinator Corey Hetherman with a long, athletic interior force capable of starting immediately. By securing Davis through the transfer portal, Miami continues its aggressive strategy of building "in the trenches," ensuring the Hurricanes remain one of the most physically imposing defensive units in the ACC for the upcoming 2026 season.
